To start a scan successfully, the target must match the asset types supported by that scan.

S4E scans can support different target types, such as domain, subdomain, IP address, URL, or HTTP request.

Domain is the main name of a website or organization on the internet.

Examples:

• s4e.io

• gov.uk

• example.com

Subdomain is a child name under a domain.

Examples:

• app.s4e.io

• docs.s4e.io

IP address is a numerical address assigned to a network-accessible system.

Examples:

• 8.8.8.8

• 1.1.1.1

URL is the full address of a specific web page or endpoint.

Examples:

• https://www.s4e.io/about

• http://s4e.io/test

HTTP request is a custom request used by request-based scans. It can include method, URL, headers, and request body.
